Dr. Voke Toye is the Founder and Chief Executive of Biologix Support Services Ltd. She holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Lagos, a Masters in Biomedical Technology (MBT) from the University of Calgary, Alberta Canadaand a BSc in Biology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.She is also a Lagos Business School (LBS) Alumni.
Voke is very passionate about bioscience,building capacity in biotech, the business of biotechnology and how to harness the untapped opportunities in the Nigerian bio-economy.In January2015, she initiated collaboration between the, with the Global Health Workshops Group, Cummings School ofMedicine, University of Calgary and the department Cell Biology and Genetics, University of Lagos, Nigeria.https://www.ucalgary.ca/workshops/news.Between 2015 and 2016, Voke successfully organized three intensive hands-on molecular biology workshops in “DNA BASICS” at the Department of Cell Biology & Genetics, University of Lagos for graduate students and researchers from surrounding Universities. The success of the program has led the departmentof Cell Biology and Genetics to introduce this workshop ascompulsory for new graduate students.
Before starting Biologix in 2006, Voke had a brief stint with a Technology Commercialization firm, University Technologies International Inc. at Canada and contributed to projects and workshops at the Biotech training center, University of Calgary. She has worked at Guinness Nigeria Plc and Technology Derivatives Ltd in Lagos.
